Life shrinks and expands according to one’s courage.

About me

After completing an Honours degree in Fine Art & Art History, at the University of Pretoria, (South Africa), and working in skull reconstruction as a police artist for several years, I set off for three adventurous years of backpacking - experiencing art, life, people and places that changed my life forever. I also happened to meet a fellow travel enthusiast whom I eventually married and then moved to beautiful British Columbia, Canada.

Life happened and it was only after I had kids, that I found myself re-discovering my love of drawing pictures.

I find nature edifying and inspirational, never stagnant, always changing, a fluid, living model for any medium to be executed in. I also love faces and the stories they tell. A long time ago I made a series of etchings dealing with cruelty and greed, but prefer these days to explore light, contrast, colour and form figuratively.
