When I finished my book, I decided to test it out. (See feedback from the wonderful experts below!) I will continue to teach my book a couple of times a year where I can, and Lulu is more than happy to accompany me on these outings. She LOVES the attention and making children smile. I believe it reinforces the connection to the book and also creates an authentic learning experience. Other benefits of this book are:

  • Teaching in small bites through step-by-step approach.

  • Using discrete task analysis to teach new tasks and strengthen executive functions: categorizing, labeling, sequencing.

  • Project based learning, incorporate sensory elements, apply to social skills, art, making connections.

  • Can be and individualized, person-centered support as well as a general, classroom tool from math to life skills.

  • The Growth Mindset language as well as positive self talk and self-esteem building.
